Computer Science Department
Objective of the programme
The broad objective of the programme is to produce computer operators and junior programmers for the booming computer industry both for the government, business industries research. A graduate should be able to operate a computer unit to perform various task including data processing/analysis, word processing, and image processing and data communications. He/she should be able to fix simple computer machine problems and to construct simple programs to process routine jobs. He/she should be able to supervise computer data entry or data entry operator.
Entry Requirement
The minimum entry requirement into the National Diploma programme in Computer Science is five Credit in Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate in Education (GCE) O/L NABTEB at a sitting or Six Credits at not more than two sittings. The credits must be in Mathematics, English, Physics and any three of the following: Statistics, Economics, Commerce, and Chemistry, Additional Mathematics and Biology, Agricultural Science, Government.
